Apply adhesive and position the laminate
Adhesive is applied using a hand roller, and the laminate is positioned over the full sheet. The board, laminate and adhesive must suit the agreed processing requirement. This stage is manual preparation, with the details reviewed by the team.
Bond the laminate in a 50-ton cold press
The prepared sheet is pressed to bond the laminate to the board. At this stage the plywood edges are not edge-banded: cutting into individual panels and edge banding come later.
Trim the excess laminate before cutting
After pressing, excess laminate around the full sheet is trimmed. This removes laminate overhang; it is different from applying edge-band tape to a cut component.
Send the full material requirement
Include board type, thickness and sheet quantity, laminate design and finish, and the finished panel list. Our team agrees the processing details with you before the job begins.
Useful answers
Before you order.
Is edge banding done before pressing?
In GSM’s illustrated workflow, laminate pasting and cold pressing happen first. Excess laminate is trimmed, the sheet is cut to size, and the individual panels are then edge-banded.
What does “50-ton” refer to?
It identifies the cold press used at the pressing stage. Share the board thickness, sheet quantity and laminate details with our team to discuss the job.
